Wish I Was There When

I wish I was there when Nelson Mandela was released from prison after being arrested for fighting apartheid in Africa. Apartheid is known as a policy or system of segregation on grounds of race. During Mandela's time, Africans were being discriminated in their own homeland by white colonists who were settling to take the resources from the continent. Nelson Mandela refused to be subdued by these white invaders and organized his own protests against them, forcing him to get serious jail time. Mandela was extremely passionate about his cause. The simple act of forgiveness makes his story uplifting and real, finally a good man is freed! Fighting for his beliefs, he rose to become the leader of his people after years of injustice. Now that's pretty amazing.
