Dispensing Nostalgia
Get plugged in. Experience what you’re good at and harness that ability. If you don’t like volunteering for beta club, dedicating time to football, or singing in the talent show there are no hard feelings; try a creative hand at something else. I think high school (and college) is a wonderful opportunity to allow ourselves to flourish into the imaginative and inspiring human beings we’re supposed to be. It’s unfortunate how so many individuals lack the confidence to be wholly and uniquely themselves, and peer pressure can take hold onto their lives. Instead of following the footprints, take a chance. Use high school as a tool to find yourself. There are so many things I wish I did, if only I had the courage to pursue those interests.
